Members of ACMQ can participate in one or more of the four special interest discussion groups. The forums each meet several times a year, offering educational sessions for all members and disseminating information of interest to members.
This forum serves as a medium for ideas about how quality health outcomes can best be achieved for patients who are enrolled in managed care organizations, and to identify the current successes and relevant barriers to quality in managed care. The group was convened as a response to significant public concern about the assurance of, and risks to, quality of care in general, and about managed care systems in particular.
This group's objectives are to identify disparities in quality of care issues in underserved and diverse communities; identify the most efficacious quality management strategies to remedy the identified disparities; assess the policy and program implications of such strategies; produce a report through public, private, and academic collaboration to include policy options for legislative action.
The forum's mission is (1) to seek, discuss, disseminate and educate members about information regarding pending legislation, administrative rulings, and other policy matters that may have an effect on the quality of healthcare delivered; and (2) to promote a greater awareness and recognition of ACMQ's mission to physicians, organized medicine entities and government agencies.
This group discusses and educates members about information technology as it applies to clinical practice, administrative processes and infrastructure in both hospitals and physicians' offices; review and critique the ACMQ website; collect and disseminate to members information on Internet resources.
