About ACMQ Education Membership

The role of ACMQ is to provide education and training for its members and others in the field of medical quality management. It derives that role from its mission, which focuses on promoting competence in the core curriculum for the practice of medical quality management and clinical quality improvement.

ACMQ published the new textbook Medical Quality Management: Theory and Practice in February 2009.

The American Board of Medical Quality exam in the core competencies is offered once a year in conjunction with the ACMQ national conference.

ACMQ requires competence in the essential skills and knowledge to earn the designation of ACMQ Fellow. Only members of ACMQ can hold the credential of Fellow or Distinguished Fellow.

ACMQ holds an annual scientific conference every year, joining with the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM) for many of our sessions, including the Annual Healthcare Quality Improvement Institute. ACMQ will offer twenty hours of education, plus our ACMQ awards luncheon and business meeting and a networking cocktail reception. Visit the National Conference section of this Web site for a detailed program and hotel and travel information, as well as a registration form that you can submit online or complete, print, and fax or mail to the ACMQ office.

Expert speakers present topics of practical use to quality professionals in our audioconferences. ACMQ offers these one-hour CME activities ten times a year.

Download the IOM Summary for an overview of the reports published by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) over the past three years.
